My past experiences with different hair removal methods.

Today, I want to share some of my past experiences with different hair removal methods. To start with, you should know that my legs have always been my main concern. I have black thick hair which grows pretty quickly compared to other people, and while shaving was the easiest and cheapest option, I got tired of having to shave every single day to keep my legs smooth and hair free. If I shaved at night before going to bed, I had to shave again in the morning because I could feel my little hairs growing back again.

So after years and years of shaving, I decided to try waxing. I tried this for a few times and even though I have dense hair it didn't hurt, but I also think that I have a high pain tolerance. I don't remember having any issues with this method like getting ingrown hairs or red bumps, but once again I got tired of having to let my hair grow so I could wax, and having to set appointments at the salon, and well that costs money too. I eventually bought a home waxing kit to save some money, but it was too messy for me.

Then, a friend of mine introduced me to epilators, Braun Silk Epil 5 to be exact. I got this also from eBay for $50-60 dollars and I immediately started using it. I do have to say that this was so painful to use! I got used to it with time but this has been the most painful hair removal method I have ever tried.

I was very pleased and extremely happy with the results at the very beginning. It took about a week and a half to grow my legs hair back. After months of using it, I started noticing some ingrown hairs which I didn't care for them, I just ingnored it. I continued using my epilator and I noticed that my ingrown hairs were increasing so badly. I tried exfoliating my skin before epilating and I even got some serums and treatments to prevent and treat ingrown hairs, but that didn't work at all.

It was really hard for me to see those bumps on my legs which made me start picking on them. Let me tell you that it was THE WORST thing I could have ever done. It just made my legs look even worse. And even so, I continued epilating for a few more months until I finally stopped.

My legs were full of tiny scars. I stopped wearing skirts and shorts for like a year, and if I wanted to wear them I had to put makeup on my legs to try to cover those scars. I started using some creams to treat discoloration and dark spots and it took almost a year for those scars to go away. Ever since, I haven't used my epilator on my legs anymore and I went back to shaving.

On my next post I am going to be talking about the last hair removal method that I tried and that it actually changed my life. XOXO!💜
